How to Use Transcripts and Subtitles

View, search, and navigate AI-generated transcripts and subtitles

After a video finishes processing, host.video automatically generates a full transcript with timestamps and speaker identification. Subtitles are also generated and available in the embedded player.

View the transcript

From the Videos page, click any video to open its detail page. The Transcript section appears below the chapters. It displays the full spoken content broken into timed segments.

Each segment shows a timestamp and the corresponding text. Click any segment to seek the player to that moment. As the video plays, the current segment highlights automatically.

Speaker identification

If the video contains multiple speakers, each transcript segment shows a speaker label (for example, "Speaker 1", "Speaker 2"). When only one speaker is detected, labels are omitted to keep the display clean.

Access the transcript file

The raw transcript data is available as a JSON file. In the Files panel on the right side of the page, look for the Transcript entry. Click the URL to copy it. This file can be used with custom players or external tools.

Subtitles in the player

Subtitles are generated as a VTT file and are available in the embedded video player. Viewers can toggle subtitles on or off using the player's caption controls.
