How to Set Country Restrictions

Allow or block video access by country

Country restrictions let you control which countries can access your videos. You can either allow access only from a specific list of countries, or deny access from a specific list while allowing everywhere else.

Set team-wide country restrictions

  1. In the sidebar, click Access Rules.
  2. Under Countries, use the mode dropdown to choose Allow only or Deny.
    • Allow only — only the countries you list can access your videos.
    • Deny — the countries you list are blocked; all others have access.
  3. Type a two-letter ISO country code (e.g. US, DE, GB) into the input field and click Add or press Enter. Repeat for each country.
  4. To remove a country, click the × next to its code.
  5. Click Save at the bottom of the page.

If any videos have per-video access rule overrides, a dialog will appear after saving. Click Update all next to the countries entry to push the new team defaults to those videos, or Leave as-is to keep their existing overrides.

Override country restrictions for a single video

Individual videos can have different country rules from the team default.

  1. Open the video detail page.
  2. In the Access Rules section of the right sidebar, click Edit.
  3. Check Override countries.
  4. Choose a mode and add or remove country codes as needed. These rules replace the team-wide setting for this video only.
  5. Click Save.

To revert a video to the team default, uncheck Override countries and save.

Country code format

Use ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 codes — two uppercase letters per country (e.g. US, CA, GB, DE). The input accepts lowercase and converts automatically. Each code must be exactly two characters and can only be added once per list.
