Migration

Migrate from Vidyard to host.video

Move your video library in under an hour

Why Teams Are Switching

Per-seat pricing escalates fast

Vidyard charges $59/user/month. A team of five pays $3,540/year. There are no volume discounts, and the jump from the free plan to paid is steep.

Platform is shifting to AI sales tools

Vidyard is pivoting heavily toward AI avatars and "Video Sales Agent" features. Headcount fell 27% over 12 months. If you need reliable video hosting rather than AI-generated sales videos, the product direction is moving away from you.

Clunky interface and poor organization

The most common user complaint is folder and file organization. The platform is described as "very clunky and extremely hard to navigate." Longer videos have known bugs.

What You'll Gain

Hosting-first, not sales-first

Before: paying for AI avatar features and CRM integrations you do not use. After: a platform built entirely around hosting, delivering, and managing video.

Flat pricing, not per-seat

Before: costs multiplied by every team member who needs access. After: flat pricing with team access included — no per-seat charges.

Clean library management

Before: a disorganized file system with limited navigation. After: a modern dashboard with fast search across your entire library.

Step-by-Step Migration

Step 1: Export from Vidyard

Go to your Vidyard library and download your source files. Vidyard allows individual video downloads from the video detail page. For bulk export, use the Vidyard API to script downloads of all assets.

Step 2: Create your host.video account

Sign up for a free 14-day trial. Set up your organization, custom domain, and branding.

Step 3: Upload your library

Upload files via the dashboard, or connect Google Drive, Dropbox, or S3 for bulk import. TUS resumable uploads ensure reliable transfers.

Step 4: Update your embeds

Find Vidyard embeds on your site — look for "play.vidyard.com" or the Vidyard JavaScript embed code. Replace with host.video iframe snippets.

Step 5: Verify and go live

Test playback across your site, confirm transcriptions, and check your player branding. Cancel your Vidyard subscription once verified.

What About My Embed Links?

Vidyard embeds are hosted on play.vidyard.com and require an active Vidyard account. Once you cancel, those embeds will stop working. Swap your embed codes while your Vidyard account is still active so you can test both side by side. For sites with many embed locations, update high-traffic pages first.

FAQ

How long does it take?

A library of 50-100 sales and marketing videos typically migrates in under an hour. Download, upload, and embed replacement can run in parallel.

Will I lose my analytics?

Export Vidyard analytics reports before canceling. host.video tracks all engagement from the moment new embeds are live, but historical Vidyard data cannot be imported.

What about CRM integrations?

If you relied on Vidyard's CRM integrations (Salesforce, HubSpot), those specific connections will not carry over. host.video provides webhook and API access for building custom integrations with your tools.
